Summary:
Electric and water camp site on a stunning PRIVATE LAKE. CAMPER NOT INCLUDED. TENTS NOT PERMITTED (WE DO NOT HAVE A PUBLIC BATHROOM). Enjoy a beverage, read a book, hike, enjoy lake views, swim, or kayak from under your awning in the middle of 120 acres. An easy drive from major highways M-196 or I-94, and only a stone’s throw away from the Van Buren State Park and the heart of South Haven.
1 dog considered per reservation, $75 dog fee per reservation, waiver must be signed:
-Dogs are welcome to swim. Please use the outdoor shower accessories to remove excess sand from your pet before entering a cottage or other public space.
-Dogs not allowed on any dock/pier
-Dogs must be under control at all times. They are welcome to be off-leash as long as they do not wander out of your area or bother other participants or spectators.
-Excessive barking will not be tolerated (we will ask you to leave).
-Dogs poop. It is your responsibility to clean up any of your dog’s poop from grass, sand, patio areas, and obviously from inside cottages or campers.
-If any pet demonstrates aggressive behavior toward another dog or a person, you will be asked to leave the property immediately.
The Space:
Forest Lake is an easy drive from major highways M-196 and I-94; and only a stone's throw away from the Van Buren State Park and the heart of South Haven.
The lake
During the summer months, our 16.8 acre private, man-made lake maintains an average temperature of 78 degrees and is surrounded by acres of wilderness and wetlands, teaming with wildlife. There is no lifeguard on duty, enjoy the water at your own risk. All guests are required to sign a liability waiver upon arrival.
The lake is used for various water sports including, but not limited to, slalom skiing, trick skiing, ski jumping, and wakeboarding. Watersport usage is managed through annual memberships that may be utilized during your stay. Please enjoy the show! And be mindful of traffic on the lake while you are swimming or kayaking. On this lake motorized boats always have the right of away.
Chartered (includes boat and driver) use of a MasterCraft ski boat can be arranged under a separate contract. Sorry, no outside boats are allowed. Contact either Liz or Alan for additional details, pricing, and scheduling.

Guest Access:
Check-in and out is private, and there is no interaction with the owners required. You will enjoy full private access to your site and share access to the surrounding 120 acres with the owners (who may or may not be present on the property and/or on the lake). We have pets and children you may encounter while enjoying the grounds.
When making your reservation request, please be aware of the number of guests you listed when booking is the maximum that will be allowed to stay overnight. Additional, daytime guests must be within a reasonable number and respectful to the property and serene environment. Any violation of this may prompt cancellation of your reservation without a refund or notice.
Larger events are considered and can be arranged under a separate contract. There are three cottages and one full RV site on the property.
Please note there are closed-circuit cameras monitoring the property, but NOT inside the cottage in any way.
The Neighborhood:
Forest Lake is nestled in 120 acres of wooded property, located on M-140 halfway between Covert and South Haven, Michigan. You can choose to take a short drive to local attractions during your stay or stay only on the property. Three major chain grocery stores are within 7 miles of Forest Lake, as well as several beaches, shops, restaurants, wineries, and breweries.
Other Things to Note:
Having guests visit during your stay. $25 each for each of your guests 13 years and older. We invite you to share Forest Lake with friends and family during your reservation. Registered guests are welcomed between 10 am and 10 pm and must purchase a day pass prior to their visit to Forest Lake for each day of their visit. The number of guests listed in your accepted reservation is the maximum number of guests allowed to stay overnight.
The Lake. During the summer months, the Lake maintains an average temperature of 80 degrees and is surrounded by acres of wilderness and wetlands, teeming with wildlife. Kayaks, canoe, and water floats are provided for your use. There is no lifeguard on duty; enjoy the water at your own risk. All guests are required to sign a liability waiver upon arrival.
The private, man-made, 16.8-acre Lake was completed in 2015 and was explicitly built and is used for various water sports, including, but not limited to, slalom skiing, trick skiing, ski jumping, and wakeboarding. Watersport usage is managed through our website at www.ForestLakeAdventures.com and may be utilized by you and other Forest Lake guests during your stay.
The location. The Van Buren State trail borders the west side of the property; this non-motorized trail provides direct access to Hartford, Van Buren State Park, the beaches of Lake Michigan, South Haven, and connection to the Kal-Haven State Trail.
