Why stay in sterile corporate short-term housing or book an expensive yet boring hotel suite when you, your group/family, and your pets can join a safari at our centrally located (near Northwest) charming 2BR 1BA 1910 bungalow. It's fully furnished, original bones yet updated where it counts, and woman owned and managed. Throughout the summer we will be doing more cosmetic updates outside, but will keep the ongoing improvements away from our guests.
This versatile fun space can cozily accommodate business travelers, healthcare professionals or a recuperating patient/caregiver who require easy access to IU hospitals, sales people who need desk space to see clients, a 6 member pit crew for the Indy 500, your family for a graduation weekend reunion, a cycling group interested in local or Menon trails, a family heading to the Children's museum and Zoo, your soccer or rowing team, wedding parties, or a "Girls" weekend out...
Enjoy the charming bungalow with rustic decor and pop art of your favorite wild animals for two nights minimum during event-free days, 10 days minimum during racing season, or up to one month at a time. You'll be delighted when you walk in the front door, sip your beverage on the breezy shaded front porch or in the hammock as you watch your pets frolic in the fenced front yard, and prepare coffee, meals or snacks in the fully-furnished kitchen.

More Safari House Indy goodies- remote workers and gamers will love our blazing fast internet (1000 mbs fiber), smart TVs, desks with ergonomic chairs, slippers (our gift to you), filtered/softened water, and a Keurig coffee/tea/hot chocolate bar. In the morning, there's mini coffee cakes, yogurt, instant oatmeal, nutra grain bars, and a fruit selection. Aircraft lovers will delight in watching the occasional flyover from the front porch. In May, race lovers will enjoy the distant sound of race cars in the morning. In the evening, light a mini campfire for s'mores (our treat).
Our block (North Dexter between 21st and 22nd streets) is a rising diverse area with many new and renovated homes. Our beds are brand-new firm hybrid coil/memory foam mattresses, cooling bamboo sheets, covered duvets, and animal pillows galore.
If you suffer from severe pet dander allergies, our pet-friendly bungalow might not be the best fit for you. Our cleaning standards are impeccable and we do treat fabrics and carpets with allergen neutralizer but we cannot guarantee results.
Safari House Indy Rules:
1-6 person occupancy- The first floor has a single queen bed in each of two bedrooms with a full bath in between. The living area has two sleeper chairs, if needed.
The first floor is partially handicapped-accessible. Entry ramps, grab bars, some wide doorways, and a bedside commode or toilet height extender are available. The first floor hand-held shower is in a bathtub with grab bars. Please let us know at booking if you require increased accessibility for a disabled individual (like a wheelchair ramp over the front steps). We will do our absolute best to accommodate your needs.
2 night minimum (more for special events days), 1 month maximum, NO CANCELLATION 24 HOURS AFTER BOOKING. The short-term rental and cleaning charge for the entire 2BR/1BA house is combined and floats daily depending on regional events and expected demand. It is locked in by your booking. Please see the availability calendar (link) for daily rates during your stay.
Arrive after 3pm and check out by 11 am. If you need to stay longer and the house is not reserved, we can certainly add extra days to your reservation.
An extra set of bedding, towels, and supplies will be available during the week.
Well-behaved, vaccinated, and flea/tick controlled pets of all sizes and numbers are heartily welcomed. The front yard has a 4' high fence but please keep pets under constant observation and clean up after them promptly.
Parking is free! N Dexter street has loads of parking spots. Backyard parking is coming soon.
Pick-up and drop-off guest laundry or dry-cleaning service is available for an additional fee, paid directly to the vendor. Restaurants, fast food, and stores deliver to us including Walmart (for quick grocery delivery).
House contents will be inventoried and signed by you after check-in and by us after your stay. Damaged or lost items (including animal waste or urine stains) will be billed to your credit card.
Smoking inside, illegal drug use/possession, sub-letting, and public parties/events (maximum is a dinner party for 10) or excess noise are strictly prohibited. You will be asked to immediately vacate without refund by our fine local peace officers.
